Each
year the Capitola Begonia Festival Board relies
on volunteer support from neighbors in the
surrounding communities to help make the wonderful
event possible. Want to have a hand in staging
the legendary Festival? We have great fun while
working to support our community. There
are regular "keep this spirit parties" throughout
the year where we get together at the home
of a host committee member to BBQ and socialize. There
are monthly meeting where we brainstorm, and
plenty of opportunities to contribute, both
during Begonia Festival weekend and beforehand.
Currently,
we seek volunteers to:
- Organize your business, organization
or neighborhood group to build a float
in the nautical parade.
- Contact other area businesses,
organizations and neighorbood groups to
build floats in the nautical parade.
- Contact area businesses and organizations
to be festival sponsors.
- Be
chairman/chairwoman of fund-raising efforts.
- Be chairman/chairwoman of volunteers.
- Be co-chairman/chairwoman of the
poster competition.
- Help find past festival queens
and princesses.
Also,
we seek volunteers to:
- Help rebuild the barges
upon which floats are built.
- Assist at staging each
Begonia Festival event
-Assist in the staging of
the entire Begonia Festival.
