The Capitola Begonia Festival Committee is looking for an extraordinary piece of art, produced by a local artist, to serve as the official poster for the 60th Annual Capitola Begonia Festival. The 2012 Festival will be held Labor Day weekend, Friday August 31 through Monday, September 3rd. This year we celebrate our 60th birthday! The theme is “My Favorite Year – a Retrospective”. Float Teams will be choosing their individual theme from the past 59 annual Capitola Begonia Festival themes - this ought to be fun!
The artwork does not necessarily have to include the theme, but the Selection Committee does traditionally favor that. Ideally, artwork should reflect the community of Capitola and the spirit and flavor of the Begonia Festival. A list of all past themes is on the website here.
All mediums will be considered. The finished poster will measure 18” by 24”. Graphics for the poster will be completed by the Begonia Festival Committee. Both the vertical and horizontal images will be considered.
Delivery of submissions is targeted for Wednesday February 29 – Sunday March 4.
